Program Coordinator - Smoke-Free Families

The Institute for Health and Recovery (IHR) is seeking a Program Coordinator for the Massachusetts Smoke-Free Families Initiative. The Program Coordinator will support IHR’s mission to develop a comprehensive continuum of care for women, adolescents, and their families who are affected by alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use, mental health problems, and violence/trauma by integrating smoke-free messages into existing health or human services material and protocols.



This position is full-time and is based in Cambridge, MA.



Major Responsibilities:

·  Survey agencies’ current methods of assessing client exposure to secondhand smoke;

·  Provide training and technical assistance to agency staff on both the dangers of secondhand smoke as well as how to integrate smoke-free messages into their work;

·  Serve as the liaison to the Massachusetts Tobacco Control Program (MTCP);

·  Attend all mandatory meetings, including all coordination and planning meetings, as well as relevant MTCP quarterly meetings;

·  Maintain strong collaborative relationships with other MTCP statewide programs;

·  Work directly with identified agencies in designing and implementing systems change around smoke-free environments;

 

Qualifications/Requirements:

·  Master’s degree in public health, social work or related field with program management experience;

·  Some statewide travel is involved; car required.

·  Experience with strategic planning, public sector policy change, and systems change;

·  Demonstrated project management skills;

·  Experience organizing and facilitating trainings for health and human service providers, especially for professionals working with families in home visiting programs such as Early Intervention, DSS or DTA;

·  Good oral and written communication skills.
