With the following job description, HCJB Global announces a current job opening for a flexible Programmer/Analyst. The qualified applicant should be a self-starter with a heart to serve others as well as a strong team player. You must also be able to work well under pressure and yet be flexible enough to meet demands as needed. An ideal candidate for this position should possess the following qualifications and skills:

 

Programmer/Analyst

 

Category:  Full-time Employee

 

Primary Responsibilities:  The Programmer/Analyst reports to the Executive Director of Information Systems and is responsible for the planning, maintenance and development of the organizational databases and servers. 

 

Essential Functions:

The database approach incorporates the following principles:Data is to remain consistent across the database Data is to be clearly defined Users are to have access concurrently in a form that suits their needs Data needs to be retrievable in an emergency since there is a provision for data security and recovery control

 

Tasks Performed:

Essential and other important responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to the following:Administer the organization’s central database to ensure its integrity, reliability, accuracy and security. Backup all production and test databases. Design, implement and maintain internal database relationships and views for easy access to data. Monitor the performance of all centrally-based computers systems; work with the technical staff to plan the configuration of the information processing network for data. Maintain and update application software, operating systems and hardware as needed; confer with vendors regarding system and database related issues. Provide support to end-users during all phases of software implementations and upgrades. Correct database system failures by analyzing causes and developing and implementing solutions. Recommend modifications to external procedures to improve the efficiency of the database operations. Write and maintain all database documentation, including data standards, procedures and definitions. Ensure that storage, archiving, backup and recovery procedures are functioning correctly. Convert external databases as needed to accomplish projects and tasks. Provide assistance to users extracting information from organizational databases. Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.

 

Minimum Physical Requirements:Must be able to lift 20-30 pounds

 

Desired Degree:Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or equivalent preferred

 

Job Experience:Experienced in principles and practices of database administration, programming and configuration 3 – 5 years of database and system experience required Knowledgeable in the method and techniques of database conversion and implementation Proficient in the principles of network client/server relationships Should be experienced in network hardware and infrastructure standards

·  Be willing and committed to hold to the guidelines described in the Policy and Worker’s Manual

·  Be willing to follow prescribed procedural manuals

·  Be willing to participate in prayer times and daily chapel

 

Required Competencies:Experienced in Microsoft SQL 2000 is required, SQL 2005 preferred Knowledge in T-SQL, ASP, ASP.Net and VB preferred Experienced with VMware Virtualization preferred Knowledge with Microsoft IIS desired, including WEB server setup and configuration

 

Job-related skills:Should be a self-starter with a heart to serve others Strong team player – willing to assist in other areas as requested by supervisor Able to work under pressure and able to work flexible hours when needed Excellent verbal and written communications skills Flexible personality – this job is not routine Excellent problem solving skills – goes the extra mile to solve issues Should be organized and have the ability to work with little or no supervision

 

Required Certifications:Must be able to legally work in the United States

 

 

Required Languages:Bi-lingual in Spanish and English beneficial, but not required
