Publications Intern

Assist the Director of Publications in the day-to-day operations of AALL communications and publications, including writing and editing content for a monthly magazine, monthly e-newsletter, annual membership directory, and annual report; updating and reviewing publications content on the association’s Web site; editing and producing association brochures and annual meeting materials; and assisting in public relations efforts.


The ideal candidate is a student pursuing a degree in journalism, communications, English or a related field. Must have at least one year experience writing and editing for a publication. The successful applicant will be detail and deadline oriented, have strong multi-tasking abilities, as well as superior organizational, teamwork and communication skills. Computer expertise in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat required; proficiency with Adobe InDesign or other publishing software a plus. Flexibility and a desire to learn. Some travel may be involved.

Office conveniently located in downtown Chicago, close to public transportation, restaurants and shopping.
