Recruiter/Family Home Developer

 

Summary:  Responsible for recruitment and retention of foster/adoptive homes, as well as monitoring and ensuring foster/adoptive family compliance with Texas Department of Family & Protective Services’ minimum standards.

 

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:  Other duties may be assigned.

· Participate in the recruitment and maintenance of foster/adoptive families.

· Assist the Program Director in coordination of special events.

· Oversee the acquisition and processing of foster/adoptive families.

· Complete home-study process on eligible potential foster homes within 30 days of family’s

  graduation from pre-service.

· Inform appropriate staff of newly verified families.

· Conduct investigations of incidents as assigned.

· Responsible for coordinating the development of corrective action plans.

· Work with Residential Child Care Licensing personnel to address licensing issues.

· Orientation will be conducted at a minimum of once a month.

· Maintain updated foster family action sheets and distribute to appropriate personnel.

· Maintain family files at 95% compliance rate.

· Maintain on-going communication with assigned foster/adopt families.

· Make quarterly monitoring visits to foster/adopt homes as assigned.

· Complete foster home action sheets within 24 hours or the next business day as indicated.

· Develop a Family Training Plan for assigned families.

· Maintain records of pre-service and in-service training attendance for assigned families.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:  May directly supervises Clinical Support Staff.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Arrow Child and Family Ministries' policies, Department of Family and Protective Services Policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:  The Family Home Developer shall have a background in Social Work including a Bachelor’s degree. The ideal candidate will have current licensure and qualify as Child Placement Management Staff status according to TDFPS standards.
