Regional Director - Orange County

SOSC is seeking a Regional Director with a minimum of 5 years of managing and supervising sports programs for individuals with intellectual disabilities or related human services program deliverables.

Valid California driver’s license and ability to meet minimum California vehicle insurance requirements is required for these positions.

 

Successful candidate will provide management oversight, direction and assistance to the Special Olympics Area Programs.  The Regional Director contributes to and supports the mission of SOSC in providing quality sports programs and training for individuals with intellectual disabilities.

 

Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree from accredited college/university.Three to five years experience in supervision and/or management Paid or volunteer experience working with individuals with disabilities; Special Olympics experience preferredLeadership experience in volunteer setting preferredTwo years of fundraising experienceBudget management experienceStrong organization skills, exceptional oral and written communication skills, including the ability to work with diverse personalities and difficult situations.  Must be able to effectively use computer applications, including data base systems.  Background in planning management, non-profit organizations, some fundraising and volunteer recruitment and management is required.  Knowledge of Region’s communities and resources is required.  Must be able to multi-task in a fast paced environment, and be willing to work evenings/weekends as necessary.
