Regional Fundraising Coordinator, NE
The Regional Fundraising Coordinator is responsible for achieving budgeted annual revenue targets for assigned walks. This person also works to integrate Walk Program fundraising into overall fundraising efforts and seeks to increase income from all areas.
We are looking for candidates anywhere in the US that are near a large airport but specifically targeting the Northeast US such as Boston. This position will work out of a home office.
Recruitment and Walk Outreach
Lead person for follow up with Walk chairs, volunteer leads, captains or individual participants for assigned Walks. Assures that all leads are entered into the database and tracked for follow-up and development purposes.
Lead person for follow up on leads for assigned potential Walk sites. Implements new Walks as assigned through leads, and recruitment of Walk volunteers and committees. Works when needed to support the efforts of other coordinators in building new Walks.
Walk Responsibilities Include:
o Work with National Development Director to integrate all development leads into fundraising activities.
o Work with National Walk Manager to project income goals for each Walk assigned and establish a strategy document to meet income goals.
o Work with National Walk Manager to create expense budgets for each Walk and ensure operation within budget.
o Develop timeline for each Walk including all deadlines for securing permits, material ordering, and sponsorship inclusion.
o Identify and recruit sponsors and secure sponsorship income for each Walk.
o Target and recruit Business Team Chair
o Recruit Walk chair, committee members, team captains, individual walkers and secure maximum income from each individual and teamMaintain weekly communication including phone contact and emails with walk chairs, sponsors, captains and individual walk leadsCreate and distribute weekly email updates to all volunteer participants beginning immediately after the kick-off and for the 8-weeks leading up to event day, ending with a post-event thank youConduct informational, corporate and recruitment presentationsReview each week with Walk Manager retention and revenue reports
o Prepare and update necessary materials as needed and ensure that all sponsorship logos are included in all mailingsEnsure all walk day event activities and logistics are in place, including permits and security, Walk date, time and location are scheduled and confirmedWork with National Walk Manager to coordinate travel and meeting plans for assigned walk events.Serve as an ambassador of the ALR at all times.Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: College degree required. Five plus years experience in a fundraising office, with general development experience as well as managing special events, preferably walkathons. Must have documented track record of fundraising success. Strong interpersonal skills, and written and verbal communication skills. Good computer skills. Experience with volunteer management required. Some travel required.
