Research Quality Assurance Analyst

As a member of the Research & Content department, the Quality Assurance Analyst is primarily responsible for ensuring the quality of all written products generated by the department and across the company.  Daily editorial support includes proofing and editing all materials for grammatical, spelling, and punctuation accuracy, as well as formatting consistency and factual correctness.  Based on previous experience and areas of expertise, additional responsibilities may include technical writing, revisions to the department manual and style guide, web-based content creation and maintenance, marketing and promotional content creation, and other tasks.  An unerring eye for detail, excellent time management skills, flexibility, and a willingness to work in a high-pressured, fast-paced environment are essential.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

 Proofread materials to ensure that content is accurate, grammatically correct, structurally sound, and consistent with other materialDevelop a thorough knowledge and understanding of company products, message, and objectives to ensure that they are properly conveyedActively work with Research Analysts to refine and produce high quality deliverables under tight daily and weekly deadlinesHelp train new Research & Content department members in style and format specificationsMaintain and update department manual and style guideComplete a two-week training period and achieve continuous performance objective goals

 

Qualifications:

 2+ years proofreading or editing experience in a professional environmentImpeccable grammar, punctuation, and language skillsExpertise in language style, accuracy, and speed in reading detailed materialOrganized and detail-orientedAbility to work both independently and as part of a teamFlexible attitude with a team-oriented personalityAbility to juggle multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously

 

Pluses:

 Bachelors Degree in English or a related fieldFamiliarity with the Chicago Manual and Associate Press style guidesTechnical writing or editing backgroundAdvanced experience with Internet, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office SuiteInterest in local government or grant funding
