Senior Accountant

BTQ Financial is seeking a Senior Accountant. The principal responsibility of this position will be to maintain the books and records for diverse clientele of BTQ Financial.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIESSupervise the work of multiple Junior Accountants.Supervise the monthly closing process.Prepare complex entries and review other required journal entries and adjustments prepared by Junior Accountants for accuracy and completeness.Review allocations, payroll distributions, and proprietary payroll grid entries prepared by Junior Accountants.Supervise monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts to subsidiary accounts.Generate basic monthly financial statements and edit/update line items as needed.Maintain and coordinate the completion of supplementary account schedules for financial reporting.Perform initial review of monthly financial statements and corresponding variance analyses.Coordinate and assist with the preparation of financial and regulatory audit schedules and supporting documentation.Review and or prepare other required client reports required by outside entities.Exhibit the capacity to work on multiple client accounts concurrently.Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with diverse client and internal personnel.Assist senior management with special projects.

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

In order to be successful in this position, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and ability required.Knowledge: Excellent command of generally accepted accounting principles and internal controls. Ability to quickly understand and learn client organizational and account structures in order to supervise and perform general ledger transactions and complex ongoing business and financial analyses. Information Technology:  Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office; some experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP (formerly Microsoft Great Plains). Microsoft FRx a plus.Quality Control: Demonstrates and values accuracy, thoroughness, and organizational ability; explores ways to improve the quality of financial data and reporting as well as enhance the efficiency of internal and client financial processes.Experience: Minimum of four (4) years of experience with monthly financial reporting and responsibility for general ledger maintenance as well as overall financial statement preparation; public accounting experience a plus.  Previous supervisory or general management accountability required.Communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills.Problem Solving: Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information adroitly; demonstrates the ability to work well in group problem solving situations.Education: Bachelors Degree in Accounting, CPA designation a plus.
