Site Director (OST)

Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club is committed to improving and enhancing the quality of life for all young people, with special emphasis on boys and girls 6 through 18 years of age who might be economically, socially or recreationally disadvantaged.  Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club exists to assist young people to realize and achieve their potential for growth and development and to attain the skills necessary to live and succeed in a complex environment.



The Site Director is an agent of Kips Bay acting as the liaison between the school’s principal and the community.  The Site Director is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the program’s membership, data collection, attendance records, staffing, activity schedules, program design, program objectives, maintaining facility, planning, purchasing, multiple tasks, and dealing with diverse populations.  The Site Director has general know-how in working with and directing others in the completion of program components. 

 

Responsibilities: 
Structure and maintain an administrative process that supports management of regular membership, attendance, record-keeping, budgetary and evaluative information Develop, structure and implement program plans to address the academic, recreational and social needs of youths participating in a school-based after-school program and summer day camp Manage the physical space of the program, with a focus on safety and quality assurance Train, supervise and review staff, volunteers and junior leaders in your charge Attend and participate in meetings and trainings as directed Conduct regular staff meetings Perform mid-year and year-end staff evaluations Enforce the policies and procedures governing staff and club members, and model them Provide direction in the coordination of special projects and sub-contracted programs culminating in events and field trips Requisition supplies and equipment seeking maximum usage, and monitor repair service(s) Handle periodic demands of activities associated with youth enrollment and retention Gives individual and group guidance to youths whenever indicated and appropriate Dress in the official attire or as directed for identification and professional appearance Other duties assigned by the Director, School-Based Programs


QualificationsExcellent communication / human-relations skills PC proficiency (with focus on MS Word and Excel) Professional appearance Proven leadership experience Minimum BA degree Minimum 2 years supervisory experience Experience with NYC Department of Education a plus
