Specialist, Instructor Services
The Appraisal Institute is a global membership association of professional real estate appraisers, with 22,000 members and 96 chapters throughout the world. Organized in 1932, its mission is to support and advance its members as the choice for real estate solutions and uphold professional credentials, standards of professional practice and ethics consistent with the public good. Members of the Appraisal Institute benefit from an array of professional education and advocacy programs, and may hold the prestigious MAI, SRPA and SRA designations.
The Specialist supports instructor development, and is responsible for providing service and quality aspects of providing qualified instructors to the Education Network. Works with Education Delivery specialists to maintain accurate records and data of course/seminar instructors.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
1. Responsible for preparing materials, completing assignments and reports for work projects.
2. Assist in program and record maintenance and administration.
3. Responsible for maintaining accurate records, and accessible filing systems. This includes
working closely with the state certification area for the distribution and collection of resumes
and other confidential information for state certification and disciplinary purposes.
4. Participate in instructor selection for national, special and international programs.
5. Create and process instructor reports to assist in duties.
6. Submit information for workshops for instructor trainings, seminars and special projects.
7. Assist by taking on additional assignments, as needed.
8. Represent Appraisal Institute at seminars and chapter/regional level meetings and is able to assume a highly professional, public relations role, if necessary. May be asked to assist be on-site coordinator for some National programs.
9. Coordinate instructor assignments and track payments for instructor training programs.
10. Oversee and/or coordinate instructor material supply chain for all programs including serving as liaison between Education Network and Product Development on new materials and Power Point files.
12. Serve in a customer relations and guiding role advising chapters and regions on matters of
instructor policy.
13. Prepare summaries and reports of attended meetings.
14. Uphold customer service standards and initiatives.
15. Support and encourage communication and action between approved instructors, Education
Delivery staff and the Education Committee.
16. Execute special projects and completes additional on-going duties, to include, but not limited to, as assigned at the discretion of the Vice President, Delivery and Director, Education Delivery Services.
17. Respond to instructor related inquiries.
18. Prepare and track instructor audits and associate instructor critiques.
Two-year college degree or equivalent experience required preferably in an association.
Excellent communication and organizational skills including the ability to draft reports and/or meeting minutes.
Word/data processing and strong PC knowledge (Word 97, Excel 97 preferred).
Some PowerPoint experience a plus.
Strong organizational skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Some travel required.
Can handle a variety of responsibilities and make decisions independently.
Able to process detailed work accurately.
Works both independently and with a team.
Can accomplish work and special projects within established guidelines.
Association experience preferred.
Microsoft word-processing and spreadsheet programs, data processing, internet/e-mail and/or membership database experience desirable, and personal computer knowledge.
