Systems Administrator needed in the DC are
USAC, a dynamic company in downtown DC, has an outstanding opportunity for a Systems Administrator, regular full-time. The purpose of the Systems Administrator position is to perform maintenance, monitoring, and support of desktop, server, and network equipment and applications. Performs significant building and maintenance of Microsoft Office SharePoint Services for both Intranets, and as a helper application to Microsoft Project and Microsoft SQL 2005 Reporting Services. Provides tiers two and three service desk support in a group responsible for voice, data, video, and other infrastructure. The incumbent must be contactable at all times and requires the use of a company-provided cell phone.
The successful candidate will have:
· At least 6 years experience in Information Technology. Can include pertinent education;
· At least 2 years helpdesk experience in a sophisticated environment (using helpdesk ticketing; service level agreements; monitoring, inventorying and tracking tools);
· At least 2 years of experience with Microsoft networking, e-mail, and other back office administration; antivirus, backups, anti-spam; network monitoring tools; some networking equipment experience;
· Demonstration of understanding WAN, IP addressing; name resolution, security, and data communications concepts;
· Special training beyond High School, formal degree in Information Technology and/or Systems, Computer Science preferred;
The following skills are desired:
· Experience with Microsoft SharePoint technologies;
· Experience supporting SharePoint as a helping technology to Microsoft Project Server and Microsoft SQL 2005 Reporting Services;
· Experience supporting Document Lifecycle Management applications such as Documentum;
· Experience supporting accounting and financial applications;
· Experience in mature environment (i.e. quality and change management controls, mature service desk and documented repeatable processes and SLAs;
· Telephones, telecom, and A/V experience a plus.
Responsibilities include:
· Responsible for making moves, adds, changes, and deletions for enterprise, back office, and e-mail applications and systems, with significant responsibility for SharePoint (Helpdesk administrators help support this activity);
· Supports and maintains enterprise, and other applications, including transitioning applications from test to their production environment;
· Provides tier two helpdesk support;
· Supports engineers in installing applications, servers, and virtual servers (engineers lead this effort);
· Manages monitoring, alerting, backups, antivirus, anti-spam, malware, etc. as well as offsite storage, and data mirroring.Run Metrics. Supports business continuity exercises including yearly disaster recovery test;
· Responsible for network scheduled jobs and maintenance calendar events;
· Maintains system documentation, and various tracking documents, e.g., software licensing, hardware, telecom, hardware and network devices, warranties and support agreements, and network diagrams. Keeps documentation for audit response support, and presents some documentation for auditors with the guidance of the security team and network manager. (helpdesk and engineering support this effort);
· Performs maintenance activities on phone system, telecom, and networking equipment (with helpdesk support);
· Performs other assignments and projects.
