Overview
The Springfield Secure Treatment Program is a residential juvenile justice program that serves about 45 boys ages 13 to 18. Many of the boys - some with parents who have experienced challenges with the justice system - are victims of abuse and neglect, and are being treated for offenses ranging from theft to violence. Referred by the Department of Youth Services, the boys receive therapy and clinical services tailored to meet their individual needs, and take part in an accredited educational program. The program is structured to increase positive behavior, social and communication skills, empathy, and the ability to successfully negotiate day-to-day tasks.
Position Responsibilities
· Hire and train all staff.
· Ensure individual supervision of staff members.
· Facilitate program meetings.
· Manage the program budget.
· Ensure communication between program departments.
· Assure proper shift ratios
· Maintain quality of life standards (hygiene, building maintenance, etc.).
· Facilitate disciplinary actions as necessary.
· Provide on-call coverage.
· Assume an active role in Agency fundraising initiatives.
· Take on additional responsibilities as requested by the Director of Residential Services.
Qualifications/Requirements
Five years of supervisory and administrative experience within a residential setting and a B.A. are required. Working towards a master's degree is both encouraged and expected, with tuition assistance available after one year of employment. Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
