Video Archive & Production Coordinator

Purpose

Act as the IFAW video technician, maintaining an organized database of all video assets. Duplicate and convert video and provide video editing and post production services. Provide integral support to implement our new digital asset management system in FY09.
Accountabilities/ResponsibilitiesMaintain the IFAW video archive and editing/dubbing system in a highly organized and accessible manner. This includes, but is not limited to, managing submission of assets to the video archive, including conversion and/or duplication of original footage, logging tapes and shot lists into the database in an orderly and sequential manner and creating and maintaining a system to check-in and check-out assets.Provide in-house AVID video editing support to IFAW departments and country offices, including DVD production and duplication and digitizing of video material. Provide support for all departments and country offices requests for duplication and format conversion.Upload and deliver IFAW video to various audiences including IFAW staff, media, and others upon request through various methods - FTP, FedEx, YouSendIt and forthcoming DAM system.Collaborate closely with the Program Communication staff for the intake and production of video assets, and inform communication officers when video is available for distribution.Collaborate with the Online Campaigns and Marketing team to assist in the production of web video, audio and video podcasts and ensure that OCM is aware of video as it becomes available.Maintain relationships with outside vendors.RequirementsFour year degree or equivalent work experience.Three years of video production or post-production experience.Experience with Avid Media Composer(ideally), or Premiere, Media 100, Sony Vegas, or Final Cut Pro.Experience with/knowledge of various video formats/technologies: Beta, DV, HDV, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, NTSC, PAL, QuickTime, Flash.Experience operating HDV, beta and other video decks.Knowledge of After Effects, Flash, Encore DVD, DVD Studio Pro, Sonic DVD products or similar software packages a plus.Database management experience; Filemaker Pro experience a plus.Computer proficient in a PC Environment with the Microsoft Office suite of software.
