WEBMASTER – aRLINGTON, va
As part of the ASPPA’s IT team, the Webmaster will spearhead the redesign of the corporate website, as well implement and maintain web assets using ASP.net, Cold Fusion, Flash, Java, SQL, and similar technologies. The incumbent will also contribute with graphics design, analytical web activity reporting (IIS-based), and localization and skinning of web pages. Will also work closely with other members of the team, (including our graphic designer, ASPPA members, outside vendors, Marketing and IT staff), regarding the seamless integration between the website and the member database, site design, testing and deployment.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Reporting directly to the IT Manager, The Webmaster will be responsible for:
· Designs, programs, implements and maintains web pages in conformance with Society’s design and security standards using ASP.net, C#, Flash, Java, SQL, and similar technologies;
· Responsibility for web analytics (WebCEO) including setting up test pages/monitoring visitors and usage and providing business intelligence on key metrics of site. Proficient in producing analytic reports from Microsoft IIS-based web servers;
· Responsible for multimedia production in conjunction with other departments. Manages ASPPA webcasts, including: correspondence with speakers; designing, producing and implementing promotional materials, (including broadcast faxes and confirmations); and coordinating with vendors to establish scheduling, pricing, etc.;
· Provides graphic design content for web pages; and
· Interfaces with databases, as necessary. Ensures seamless integration between the website and the member database.
Job Requirements:
Skills and Abilities:
· Strong graphic design experience, with debugging and problem solving skills;
· Fundamental knowledge of ASP.NET, Cold Fusion, JavaScript, and SQL;
· Proficiency with HTM/CGI/PERL; (the ideal candidate is able to hand-code, when necessary);
· Solid understanding of IIS, MS SQL and Apache;
· Solid experience with Adobe Acrobat/Illustrator/Photoshop and Macromedia Suite;
· Experience with PHP, Java/J2EE, Visual Basic, and/or C#;
· Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python) is a plus;
· Familiarity with version control systems (Perforce, CVS, etc.) is a plus;
· Experience in Camtasia Video/Audio editing software is preferred, but not required; and
· Experience with iMIS database is preferred, but not required
Experience/Background:
· 3-5 years of website development, preferably with experience building membership-focused websites.
· Experience working as a positive, proactive, contributing member of the team, within all levels of the organization, internally and externally.
Educational Requirements:
· Four year degree in Graphic Arts or Web Design, and/or equivalent experience.
