Web Communications Specialist

The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith based organization, has an immediate need for a Web Communication Specialist for the Southern Territory Headquarters, located in Atlanta, Georgia.

 

Job Summary

 

Provides technical support for Salvation Army websites located across the Southern Territory; assists local users in developing and maintaining web sites in compliance with established policies and procedures; answers questions and troubleshoots operational problems by answering a “help desk” phone.  Receives and responds  to al online donor requests in a timely manner.

 

Required Experience

 

Knowledge of the principles and practices of website administration including creation, implementation, and content development.

 

Knowledge of systems and programming concepts.  Knowledge of the capabilities of general purpose electronic computing equipment.  Knowledge of general web development and maintenance. Knowledge of Photoshop (picture management), Dreamweaver (HDML editor), and Flash (graphic/animation editor).  Ability to analyze problems and resources and initiate procedures and processes designed for improved productivity.  Ability to effectively process online donor requests in an accurate and timely manner.  Ability to provide technical support assistance to users via phone or online.  Ability to plan and manage workload in compliance with workload demands and time constraints.  Ability to juggle several projects with competing deadlines without becoming frustrated.

 

Software programs:  Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Flash

 

 

Required Education

 

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field OR any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
