Working in a team environment, the Webmaster will be acreative, experienced self-starter with the technical skill base to develop,design and maintain website(s) from the ground up. At present, Genetic Alliancemaintains 5 dynamic websites – a main website (geneticalliance.org – in the processof being converted to php), three wiki’s (wikistaff (internal),wikigenetics.org, wikiadvocacy.org), and a document repository site(resourcerepository.org) along with ongoing electronic newsletters andlistservs (galists.org) to serve our network. Our content is generated bymembers of our network, and program staff, and is stored in a FileMaker Prodatabase that is currently being connected to the website to create an onlineworkflow. The ideal candidate will be well versed in creating websites andapplications with a focus on site usability and user experience. Finally, theideal candidate should be comfortable working with, and in some casestransitioning to or from, outside IT vendors. He or she will have excellentcommunication skills and be an excellent team player.

Possessessignificant knowledge of client server and internet-systems architectures.Specifically Mac OX servers as well as Linux based servers. Understands browser specific compatibility issues Understands the benefits of the object oriented programming
