We are currently seeking a Windows Desktop Operations Specialist to assist in our busy IS department..

 

RequirementsTechnical training on Microsoft Window products.A minimum of three years’ experience with PC hardware and software installation, repair and upgrade.Experience with local area network installation, maintenance and administration.Knowledge of and experience with data communication principals and applications.Experience in the use of a wide variety of PC-based application programs.Experience with support of laser printers in both stand-alone and networked environments.In-depth understanding of Windows operating systems.Bachelor’s degree in computer science preferred..

 

ResponsibilitiesCreate, install and manage images for PCs or laptops running the Windows operating system, using Microsoft Remote Installation Services (RIS), Ghost or Acronis imaging tools.  Apply approved security patches to desktop operating systems using automated patch management tools.Coordinate and maintain department specific resources including laptops and printers and provide first level support for the download process.Troubleshoot network, workstation and peripheral device problems which may be the result of hardware, software or TCP/IP connectivity issues; seek outside assistance when unable to diagnose or resolve problem.Install, configure and perform qualification for Windows workstations and peripheral devices including printers, scanners, tape drives, cameras, CD-ROMS, PDA's and other standard devices.Effectively resolve, complete and document the results of help desk trouble tickets; report repetititve user difficulties and make recommendations for resolution.Place orders for PC equipment, peripherals, mobile devices and wireless services based on best quality and cost for the organization..Identify and evaluate application software and hardware to meet specific BloodSource departmental computing needs..Add, delete, modify and manage active directory groups, policies and objects to facilitate enterprise software distribution and desktop standardization.Perform other projects/duties as needed..
