The YMCA of Metropolitan Washington is renowned for its Aquatics Department.  Learning how to swim and swimming for exercise is the core of many YMCA programs.  Our YMCA in Silver Spring, Maryland is currently recruiting for an Aquatics Director.  Our ideal candidate will  have experience in all aspects of aquatic staffing to include recruiting, training, development, performance management supervision, education, certification, team building and scheduling of the Aquatics Department.  This individual will be responsible for marketing aquatic programs and events, maximizing pool usage for all groups with safety and satisfaction/member retention at the forefront.  This individual should have 5-10 years experience as a director in aquatics with  a bachelor’s degree and certifications in CPR, First Aid, Water Fitness Instructor, Parent/Child, Preschool, Youth and Adult instructor.  Must be able to do heavy lifting- equipment, people and chemicals, must be able to climb and use a variety of aquatics and cleaning equipment.
