Job Description:Genesis10 is seeking 2 Java/J2EE Developers for direct hire opportunities with a major financial services client in Kansas City, Missouri. Java/J2EE Developer - Products and Services Position:The first opportunity with client is in the Insurance Products and Services division. You will work as a member of a highly collaborative team to design, write, test and implement small to complex software solutions which will include enhancements to the existing system and development of new software components.Application Development Responsibilities - Products & Services:- Research, develop and document design approach solutions in response to design requests and critical production problems and present those recommendations to the Technical Lead and other members of the development staff to garner feedback and gain consensus.- Work closely with other developers on projects and take direction from more experienced senior staff and assist less experienced team members.- Implement application design by utilizing development languages and tools.- Develop and execute test plans, which may include unit testing for assigned projects and ensure the code is scalable and meets performance requirements for assigned projects through performance tuning.- Develop applications based on evaluation of business and technical requirements.- Write and maintain documentation on any technical development completed.- Troubleshoot and resolve data and application software problems as assigned, and assist others on the team. This may involve utilizing SQL and other tools to assist in data manipulation.Salary: Up to $70,000 per year, depending upon experience.Java/J2EE Developer - Enterprise Services Position:The second opportunity with client is in the Enterprise Services division with the responsibility for maintaining / creating complex and highly integrated enterprise wide services. You will assist and complete development of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) Java components deployed on either an Oracle Application Server or the iWay Enterprise Service Bus to augment the overall development team. Additionally, you will acquire and demonstrate expertise in the technical area of the capabilities of the iWay Enterprise Service Bus. Must have a full understanding of the services and have the ability to debug across multiple platforms and tools. This may involve utilizing SQL and other tools to assist in data manipulation.- Acquire and demonstrate expertise in the technical area of the capabilities of the iWay Enterprise Service Bus.Salary: Up to $80,000 per year, depending upon experience.Job Experience:Required Experience/Skills - Products and Services Position:- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Computer Science or Associates Degree in Applied Science specific to Computer Science, and five to eight years related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.- Minimum 4 years of Information Systems experience.- Minimum 2 years of enterprise-level programming experience.- Minimum 2 years experience, ideally 3 years working as Software Engineer on large complex projects using Java and J2EE.- Minimum 2 years experience, ideally 3 years in OO programming (i.e. C++, Java).- Ideally some experience in Web Service design and implementation.- Experience in Oracle, SQL.- Experience in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel).- JAVA development experience in a work environment.- Experience with Object oriented analysis and design (OOAD) techniques.- Experience with J2EE practices and design patterns and frameworks.- Experience with System Design Life Cycle processes.- Experience developing either web front or back ends, ideally both.- Experience working with formal Project Management Practices and Accountabilities.- Thorough understanding of web software development and relational databases and ability to read and translate requirements from Use Cases.- Must be willing to accept a key role and responsibility for delivering individual assignments and complex sub-systems on-time and within budget that meet business requirements and are of high quality.- Good time management, organizational skills and the ability to accurately estimate the level of effort needed and be willing to work on multiple projects at the same time and easily accept changing priorities.Required Experience/Skills - Enterprise Services Position:- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Computer Science or Associates Degree in Applied Science specific to Computer Science, and five to eight years related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.- Experience with the entire development life cycle; starting with the analysis, design, construction, implementation and following it through to the evolution phases.- Experience in Oracle, SQL.- Experience in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel).- Experience in Java and JDBC or ODBC.- Ability to code, understand basic programming logic and development issues specializing in one language.- Proactive and demonstrate initiative.- Logical and disciplined thinker.- Proficient at gathering and analyzing data through interviews and observations.- Strong communication skills.
