The Accounting Manager works with the plant management staff to coordinate and direct the planning and control activities of the plant. Through direct supervision of accounting support staff this position ensures the accuracy, timeliness and effectiveness of financial/operational reports for both internal and external customers, furnishes Management with the necessary information/analysis to plan, control, and evaluate manufacturing operations. This position is also responsible for establishing and continuously evaluating the control environment to ensure that the facilities' resources are adequately safeguarded, and also actively participates in the review, evaluation and approval of the investment of capital resources. Analysis of Plant Operations: Analyze and report the plant's operational and financial performance on a monthly basis, controlling accurate records for all plant inventories, and investigating all major manufacturing variances, to provide timely, actionable information to plant management. Coordination of monthly accounting and the Standard Cost system: Manage the SAP Routing and BOM development and maintenance process, to ensure that all plant material, labor and overhead costs are accurately reflected in the standard cost of each product. Lead and coordinate all activities involved in the monthly close process. Duties to also include the ongoing proper documentation of the various SOX controls within the plant environment. Outlooks & Annual Plan Development: Assist in the development of monthly plant financial outlooks. Lead the plant's annual standards review process, and assist in various facets of the plant budgeting process. Supervision of Accounting staff: Supervise plant accounting staff, including Staff Accountants, Accounting Coordinators and Payroll Coordinators in the daily performance of their activities. Fixed Assets: Maintain the fixed asset records for the plant, including setting up new fixed assets as well as processing transfers and retirement of existing assets. Miscellaneous Analysis: Perform miscellaneous reports and analysis as required on an ongoing basis Education: B.S. Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent (MBA, CPA,CMA desirable) Experience: Minimum 5 years manufacturing accounting experience or equivalent. 2 years managerial experience preferred.
