Qualifications EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: - High school graduate with three years experience. - Knowledge of computer systems - Microsoft Office required; JD Edwards a plus. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. - Must have the ability to establish effective working relationships with all levels of management and staff. Responsibilities This Accounts Payable Associate is responsible for the prompt and accurate entry of all invoices and reimbursements to vendors for invoices received. This is a corporate position located at our Linthicum, Maryland office. MON CB ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 1. Responsible for the receipt, date stamping, sorting, scanning, and indexing of invoices and related documentation to personnel for approval and account coding . 2. Batches all invoices for recording into the computerized Accounts Payable system. 3. Recognizes the importance of due dates and vendor discounts if applicable. 4. Attaches all supporting documentation to the check. 5. Assist in mailing of checks on a timely basis with the appropriate documentation. 6. Submit all voided checks on a timely basis with the appropriate documentation. 7. Follow up on vendor statements and outstanding past due notices to ensure prompt payment. 8. Interact with departments and vendors to resolve payment issues. 9. Responsible to perform month end closing by 5:00 p.m. on the second business day of the following month. 10. Assists Accounts Payable Supervisor with year end closing processes, including processing of 1099s 11. File all scanned invoices in appropriate bins after processing. 12. Follow up on vendor statements and outstanding past due notices to ensure prompt payment resolution. 13. Interact with departments and vendors to resolve payment issues. 14. Prepare open payable reports every Monday after the check run has been processed and reviewed. 15. Unclaimed property research.
