Activities Supervisor

Erickson Communities, the nation’s leader in developing and managing campus style retirement communities, has an opportunity for an experienced  Activities Supervisor at Brooksby Village in Peabody, MA. Under the supervision of RG Program Assistant Manager, the Activities Supervisor provides therapeutic programming to meet the physical, intellectual, spiritual, creative, recreational, and social needs and interests. RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Leads programs independently, and implements programs appropriate to resident population being served which will include entertainment, trips, and special events.2. Knowledge of dementia and the ability to adapt programming based on level of resident’s impairment.3. Develop and maintain a rapport with staff, residents, residents’ families, and volunteers.4. Oversee maintenance of proper documentation including daily attendance sheets, quarterly progress notes, assessments forms, and MDS as necessary.  5. Assesses residents’ needs and limitations on an on-going basis for program planning and writing assessment forms and MDS.6. Review resident assessments completed by RG Program Assistants to ensure appropriate and preference based programming.7. Perform any other duties as assigned by management. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Associate Degree in Recreation, Recreational Therapy, Activity Therapy, Dance/Movement Therapy, Music Therapy, Horticulture Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or other allied services or Bachelor’s Degree.  Preferred 1 or 2 years experience.  Or three to five years experience as an Activities Coordinator with supervisory experience. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:· Supervises Activity Assistants· Hold weekly staff meetings.· Provide departmental orientation and training. Our award-winning benefits include medical, dental, life, disability, company-matched 403(b), prepaid education and uniform allowance. To view job opportunities and apply online, please visit www.Erickson.com/careers.  For more information, please contact Katherine Tracy at 978-536-7897.  Brooksby Village is Agency-Free.
