Adjuster-Worker's Comp
Job Description: The Hanover Insurance Group is seeking a Worker's Compensation Adjuster within our Worcester, MA office.Duties include, but are not limited to, the investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and resolution of Workers Compensation medical and closed period lost time claims in accordance with policy conditions, best practices and jurisdictional requirements. Implement and coordinate the most effective medical/disability management techniques to mitigate loss and expense payments. Develop and utilize modified work approaches to effectuate quick return to work results and manage claim exposure. Identify subrogation potential and make appropriate referral. Maintain high level of productivity and customer service. Possess or secure and maintain appropriate state adjuster license(s). Work within defined limits and authority on assignments of minimal complexity; Use discretion and independent judgment in claim handling; Possess basic functional knowledge and skills reflective of study and/or on job development; Phone contact with customers is required to confirm cause, coverage, liability and damages. Core Requirements: Bachelors Degree or equivalent Typically has 0 to 1.5 years experience Possesses strong customer service skills and behaviors Makes decisions in an informed, confident and timely manner Maintains constructive working relationships despite differing perspectives Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to negotiate skillfully in difficult situations with both internal and external groups. Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills. Promotes and facilitates free and open communication.
