Application Technical Lead

Job Description:Application Technical LeadThe Hanover Insurance Group is seeking an experienced Application Technical Lead for our Worcester, MA office.Responsibilities: Work as part of a cross-functional team to translate business requirements into technical solutions. This position requires attention to detail, creative thinking and strong collaborative skills. Review business and functional requirements Assist with technical design Develop comprehensive technical specifications to build business applications Identify project deliverables, milestones and required tasks within development Coordinate resource needs with Delivery Manager Coordinate activities of project team to ensure project progresses on schedule Facilitate discussions among project team members for problem resolution Document according to SDLC requirements Communicate with business users and project team members Provide clear direction to developers and testers on the project team Work with a staff that includes offshore development Track project issues related to development Object oriented design skills Requirements: Experience with stored procedures Excellent verbal & written communication skills Data analysis skills Insurance (particularly P&C) knowledge preferred but not mandatory Four+ years of technical or project lead experience Deep understanding of current technologies including Web services, Oracle, JAVA, JavaScript, RAD, HTML, J2EE, Windows, SQL, Dialogue, Dialogue Plus as well as exposure to three tier client-server development MS Office Novell GroupWise Knowledge of scripting languages helpful but not mandatory Novell GroupWise Peregrine Service Center Outstanding Customer Service Outstanding communications skills (verbal and written)Education and Certifications: Bachelors Degree in computer science or a related discipline with and information technology focus 5 - 8 Years of Experience Benefits To Joining The Hanover Team: Competitive Pay and Benefits Retirement/401(k) Program Beneficiary and Ability Assist Programs Travel Assistance Program Adoption Benefit Wellness Programs Matching Education Gifts Plan Employee Development/Education Assistance and Professional/Industry Designation Programs Generous "Time Off With Pay"The Hanover Insurance Group, Inc.
