Applications Business Analyst

AMSC (American Superconductor Corporation - NASDAQ: AMSC) serves the utility, industrial and wind power markets with a host of leading energy technologies based on proprietary high temperature superconductor (HTS) wires and power electronic systems.




The Business Analyst will be responsible for the Power Systems business unit translation of new business requirements into detailed functional specifications and also manage requests for updates to the existing system structure.  Influence the business to determine which business requirements should be automated and how they can be integrated with other business and technical processes.

ResponsibilitiesStrong working knowledge of Macola software is preferredAct as liaison with the functional business leaders and serve as subject matter expert on business processes and data flow.Design and execute integrated business, functional and technical test planning, identifying and defining application requirements.Responsible to develop, train and document departmental procedures such as Purchasing, Finance, Sales, Service, Projects and Operations in the most effective use of systems applications (Macola).Provides system support and recommend solutions to provide efficient financial, sales and operational management tools to better meet the needs of business unit leaders.Assure quality of reporting and procedures to meet Internal Audit, External Audit, and SOX requirements.Analyzes and improves internal reporting issues for faster, more efficient management reporting.Assist individuals as needed to ensure compliance to procedures.Provide in-house Macola & Crystal report writer support, training and process leadership.

Minimum Education and ExperienceMinimum 7 years of business analysis and support experience working with ERP systems.Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Information Systems, Information technology or Computer Science.Candidate must have experience in the following areas: ERP software, Advanced Excel capabilities, Relational Database and extensive report writing.Excellent interpersonal, organizational, oral and written communication skills.Strong leadership and influencing skills.American Superconductor is an equal opportunity employer.
