Job Description Architect The Architect should provide overall technical direction and technical leadership to the organization. The Architect should be the Technical Lead in designing, building, testing, implementing and maintaining applications to meet specific company business requirements. The Architect is responsible for gathering, evaluating and refining client requirements, translating those requirements into detailed designs, writing code to meet the requirements of the designs and testing that code.1. Lead software development by estimating, planning, designing, coding and implementing distributed Web software.2. Define overall technical architecture & roadmap.3. Formalize application architecture strategy.4. Develop and own application architecture standards, policies and procedures.5. Ensure relevant policies and procedures are well understood by the development organization and fully integrated into day-to-day procedures.6. Perform prototyping and initiate application development efforts.7. Guide developers by contributing to and enforcing best practices.8. Manage source code versioning and release schedule.9. Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.10. Stay on top of industry changes and drive innovation.11. Work with end users to understand, qualify and challenge business requirements.12. Design and write highly modular and loosely coupled code for maximum reuse and extendibility. Code created should be well documented and follow department standards.13. Create and execute test cases and ensure testing effectively validates that systems meet the functional and non-functional requirements.14. Work in a fast paced continual learning environment. This requires ongoing education (independent and structured) with the ability to quickly adapt and learn new technologies to solve business issues.Perform other duties as assigned.
