Position Title:    Area Sales Manager

Position Location:Philadelphia, PA / mid – atlantic

 

Base Salary:    $75,000 - $85,000

Bonus:    20%

 

 

Position Summary:

 

The Area Sales Manager will report directly to the Central Regional Sales Manager.  The ASM will be responsible for managing and growing a $M+ (est) account base.  Key accounts include Grainger, Fastenal and related key Commercial accounts supported by these distributors.

 

The ASM will be based out of a home office and will spend the majority of their time in the field working with their distributor partners, making (end user) calls with the distributor sales team.  The ASM will create and execute the market’s strategic action plan to grow the region’s Regional Accounts, as well as support the company’s National Account Program. 

 

The ASM will be challenged to drive sales and profit growth through the established industrial distribution channel.  This is a highly visible position and will afford the right candidate the opportunity for future career advancement within the organization.

 

 

Candidate Profile:

 A minimum of 3 years of successful sales experience selling to the distribution channelPrior experience working in the professional tool industry a plusPrior experience managing distributor sales teamsPrior experience making joint end user sales callsA detailed understanding of industrial distribution channel dynamics Strong analytical, time management and problem solving skillsStrong leadership qualities, with excellent communication skillsThe ability to solve problems, and manage by factsThe ability to manage the territory expenses and the co-op budgetA Bachelors Degree is mandatoryOvernight travel requiredBilingual (English and Spanish)Computer Skills (Microsoft Office, Outlook)
