Associate Director, Compensation, Benefits and HRIS
Job Description:CV Therapeutics seeks to hire an Associate Director of Compensation, Benefits, and HRIS. This position will provide hands-on leadership in the design, implementation, administration, and continuous improvement of CVT’s compensation and benefits programs. Ensures that all offerings are aligned with the company’s strategic goals and objectives, are externally competitive, and optimize company and individual performance. Interacts and communicates effectively with employees at all levels of the organization, including HR leaders, business leaders, senior executives, and individual contributors. Develops and prepares materials for the Board of Directors Compensation Committee meetings. Provides leadership across the HR department in the use and enhancement of company’s HRIS system (SAP), as well as direct management for the maintenance of employee records. Manages a staff of two HR professionals, as well as external vendors and service providers.Major Responsibilities/Accountabilities:• Develop and improve CVT’s total rewards strategy to deliver competitive and innovative offerings in compensation and benefits.• Partner with Staffing as well as other HR staff members to successfully develop, brand, and communicate effective total rewards strategies for attraction and retention of key scientific, commercial, and administrative staff.• Provide thorough and detailed compensation and benefits evaluations, analyses, recommendations, and reporting.• Research and analyze information for senior HR leaders for development of and changes to executive and BOD cash compensation and equity programs • Provide guidance, support, training, and direction to managers and HR business partners for CVT’s annual Focal compensation process. Analyze market data, and develop merit and bonus programs that adequately reflect differentiation based on performance and adherence to budget. Work with senior HR leaders to get budget and programs approved.• Develop and provide compensation and benefits training to managers and employees.• Manage policy development, administration, and record-keeping of health and welfare plans, 401(k) plan, and leaves.• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local compensation and benefit laws and regulations. Keep leadership informed of new developments and disseminate the information as necessary. • Work closely and collaboratively with Finance, Payroll, and Legal to ensure that audit and SOX requirements are met.• Manage relations with brokers, vendors, consultants, and regulatory agencies. Evaluate vendor performance, provide improvement feedback, and make changes as necessary. • Oversee the maintenance and documentation of CVT’s job leveling. Evaluate new positions for job content and determine appropriate match to competitive market data as well as internal leveling. • Manage the administration of the Human Resource Information System (SAP) with respect to reporting and data integrity. Manages relationships with the HR team and the Information Management group to ensure the effective use of HRIS reporting and functionality.• Lead the investigation and implementation of HR-related technology solutions, as necessary.

Job Experience:• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Finance, or related area. Masters degree a plus.• 10+ years experience in HR, financial management or compensation and benefits; at least 5 years of compensation, benefits and HRIS experience, preferably leading the function.• Demonstrated ability to evaluate, design, and recommend compensation programs based on market assessment and business strategy. Demonstrated ability to design and implement best practices. • Demonstrated excellence in developing, analyzing, and evaluating executive compensation and BOD cash compensation and equity with a high degree of accuracy, clarity, and strength of presentation.• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong consultative/client service skills; ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization, from CEO and Board level to broad manager/employee base. • Excellent computer proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Expert ability to create spreadsheets to support analysis and recommendations.• Prior experience in biotech/pharma compensation and benefits as well as experience with sales incentive compensation highly preferred or high-tech background with equivalent combination of experiences.• Strong analytical problem solving skills. Strong project and process management skills for implementing high impact programs with high impact communications.• Ability to complete multiple tasks within critical deadlines with a strong sense of urgency.• Leadership in HRIS and HR technology solutions; SAP in particular is highly desired.• Strong teamwork and partnership skills across the organization, as well as within HR. • Demonstrates good judgment, initiative, accuracy, and professionalism.• Certification in Compensation Planning (CCP) desirable.Minimum Education Required: BachelorYears of Experience Required: More than 5 years
