Please visit our website at .Summary:The Associate Director reports to the Director of Marketing Research and manages marketing research requirements for a business sector. Manages or provides work direction to assigned analysts and support staff. This incumbent will also manage the marketing research requirements for a business sector to contribute insights about the consumer and marketplace that lead to business growth. This person will work closely with key customers who include: Sector management, DT&A, P&TD, Customer teams, and other K-C support groups; advertising agencies and consulting partners.Responsibilities: Determine marketing research/insights information needs, aligned with sector strategies, for a sector to achieve annual and long-term objectives. Develop and recommend research plans and information systems to meet these objectives. Direct the management of marketing research/insights programs for a sector. Assign responsibilities to research analysts and supervise their progress, as well as managing own projects. Direct research suppliers to develop improved methods and cost savings for assigned sector and for cross-sector applicability. Direct the analysis and reporting of research information for the sector to meet sector objectives. Develop information systems that capture learning from multiple projects and create a data bank of knowledge for the sector and Insights data banks across sectors. Consult with senior management and business teams about how marketing research information impacts sector objectives/strategies. Coach and motivate assigned personnel to achieve full potential, including determination and facilitation of professional training needs. Ensure that career development activities occur and develop career enhancement opportunities for deputies. Provide leadership to ensure the Corporation attracts, develops, and retains the best people and fosters an environment which motivates a diverse team to fully use its capabilities in achieving desired business results The incumbent defines information needs for the sector and develops research plans that properly reflect the value and risks of the resulting business decisions. This person leads the sector’s Insights team to ensure research is designed, conducted, and analyzed in an effective and efficient manner. Provide objective and actionable insights about how the sector can delight the consumer, and to educate other sector team members about the consumer. Will work with the Director and other Insights team members to develop more effective and efficient research methods within and across business sectors, which includes both consumer/user and marketplace research. The incumbent provides continuous training to Insights personnel and business partners. Monitor developments both inside and outside the Corporation toward improving the effectiveness of marketing research/Insights activities.Minimum Qualifications: Masters degree or equivalent business related experience Ten to fifteen or more years of experience in diversified areas of marketing researchPreferred Qualifications: The incumbent must demonstrate previous leadership ability in a managerial position Have proven the ability to lead teams and to work effectively with senior levels of sector management. To have in-depth understanding of the consumer’s relationship to sector business objectives in order to provide insights and recommendations that lead to business growth. Partners rely on the Associate Director to be an expert about the consumer and subject category (s). To have the technical expertise and breadth of experience to assure that recommendations are based on objective research methods and seasoned business judgment, and that research is conducted in an effective, timely, and cost-efficient manner. Key skills include vision; deputy development; technical expertise; planning and organization; analysis and synthesis; academic curiosity (ability to relate information from multiple subjects and sources).
