Associate Technical Designer
Responsible to develop technical packages and evaluate garments for technical specifications, consistent fit and proper construction.
MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
· Work closely with patternmakers and samplemakers on technical construction or fit issues and track fit progress for division
· Participate in fit sessions, making appropriate recommendations for fit and construction issues
· Participate in style and fit approval process with cross-functional partners to meet all deadlines and address issues for resolution with Technical Designers.
· Communicate development and fit information to overseas vendors through written reports, sketches or pattern corrections
· Assist in organizing and prioritizing workload to meet deadlines, partnering with Technical Designers as needed
· Support Technical Design workload by creating fit schedules, maintaining track and measurement records
· Adhere to established fit and construction standards by producing accurate specification packages including sketch details, base size specifications, grading, construction and packaging details
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS ARE:
· Minimum 3 – 4 years Assistant Technical Design experience
· Degree in Apparel Design, Product Development or related field
· Must possess a strong understanding of garment construction, fit standards patternmaking, grading and specification packages
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required
· Ability to communicate effectively and accurately with internal resources as well as overseas vendors.
· Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop is required
· Experience or knowledge of pattern making software and Web PDM a plus
