Associate Technical Designer-Knits & Sweaters

POSITION OBJECTIVE: Management of product development in the assigned product area. Work closely with Senior Technical Designer/Technical Designer to maintain consistency of fit and quality through technical written spec packages in PDM. Work with Sr. Technical Designer and Technical Designer to manage daily workload and drive T&A calendar. Ensure brand integrity throughout fit development process while keeping the customer in mind. Build and maintain strong communication with Merchant, Design, Production and Vendors. Work closely with Senior Technical Designer/Technical Designer to continually broaden technical knowledge and to elevate the quality of the product. FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for a portion of or a product classification while supporting the Technical Designer and Technical Assistant as necessary. Analyze fit on a live model and mannequin with the Technical Designer. Work with Sr. Technical Designer, Technical Designer, Merchants and Design to establish the direction of the fit and garment details. Executes tech packs from concept to TOP of assigned and additional product classifications as directed to TD inclusive of written comments on fit, construction and trims, digital photos and any other necessary information. Accuracy is essential. Communicates on a daily basis with Vendors, Merchants, Design and Production as it relates to the T&A and execution of the product. Track and bring resolution to all garment tests. Supports Senior Technical Designer and Technical Designer in measuring and prepping for fit. Assist other teams when workload is heavy within the department. Travel as needed. Minimum of 1-3 years in apparel industry in pattern making or technical design. Basic understanding of fit, balance and garment construction, fabrics and fabric performance. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent time management skills. Web PDM or comparable, software com, computer literate including Excel/Word/PRM/Adobe Illustrator.
