Job Summary Acts as primary counsel for the Wyeth Clinical Research & Development organization with regard to the conduct of global clinical research in the Americas Research Organization and, primarily, in the Latin America region. The incumbent in this position will have daily interactions with government agencies, academic institutions, hospitals and other clinical study sites, contract research organizations and clinical supply vendors as well as global counsel and affiliate personnel. Job Responsibilities *Provide legal counsel and advice to the CR&D organization with regard to the conduct of clinical trials in the Latin America region. *Review, negotiate and draft agreements for clinical research transactions. International travel is required to negotiate and finalize transactions. *Advise senior research management on the impact of transaction structures. *Provide legal advice for country specific regulatory requirements, regional delegation of authority letters and coordination and facilitation of document submissions for local ethics committee and regulatory approvals. *Provide legal advice with regard to clinical trial informed consents. *Participates as a legal representative on cross-functional teams and task forces. *Develop and advise on policies and procedures for the clinical research organization. *Work with specialists within the Wyeth Law Department (e.g. patent, trademark, etc.) to address issues relevant to the business. Basic Qualifications *This position requires a law degree from a top-tier law school in the United Kingdom, Canada, South America or the United States of America, with four to six years cross-border practice experience at a multi-national law firm. The ideal candidate will have experience working with senior clients and be familiar with clinical research regulations, contract, licensing and intellectual property laws. Candidates must also possess proficient written and verbal language skills in Portuguese, Spanish and English.Relocation is available for this position.
