Audio Tour Sales Manager

The Audio Tour Sales Manager manages the daily retail operation for Antenna Audio at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The audio tour program at the Met includes audio tours for several simultaneous temporary exhibitions and an ever-growing permanent collection. The Audio Tour Sales Manager drives audio tour sales through effective and professional management of all sales staff, floor operations, audio tour equipment, and visitor interaction. Additionally the Audio Tour Sales Manager sets sales and revenue goals with the help of the Senior Retail Operations Manager and the Account Manager. S/he is responsible for meeting and exceeding these goals, finding innovative ways to increase take up rates, while monitoring operating and staffing costs.
Responsibilities:
1. Create, develop, and manage a sales-driven, visitor-service-oriented sales staff
2. Develop and cultivate strong relationships with Metropolitan Museum of Art representatives including group sales, visitor services, and membership
3. Develop and administer staff incentives, training plans, team building and other staff programs to ensure the highest level of customer service and sales are achieved.
4. Monitor labor expenses, and make adjustments as necessary to keep them in line with budget.
5. Analyze weekly financial performance reports to make quick and strategic decisions and adjustments to ensure revenue is achieved and costs are managed effectively.
6. Resolve all operational crisis and all visitor complaints in an expeditious and effective manner to ensure seamless customer service and complete customer satisfaction.
7. Assist AM and OC in maintaining the overall on-site operations up to standards.
8. Oversee daily cash handling and bank deposits.
9. Submit payroll and HR paperwork.
10. Manage equipment including work orders, monthly inventories and work with on-site technician.
11. Work with Operations Coordinator (OC) to ensure successful on-site operations, including all design projects (signage, labels, marketing collateral as the case may be), special exhibitions preparation and on-going operations, player rotation, special events, groups’ reservations and month-end reconciliation.
12. Perform other responsibilities as required.
Requirements:
* Minimum 3 years experience working in a fast-paced, retail environment.
* Minimum 3 years staff management experience, including customer service training.
* Demonstrated success meeting and exceeding revenue goals, and leading teams to perform at their highest levels
* Demonstrate customer-first mind set, diplomacy, tactfulness.
* Ability to maintain productivity, flexibility and sense of humor during changes and under pressure
* Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
* Able to work with minimum supervision, effectively manage problems, think strategically, meet deadlines, and demonstrate proven leadership skills
* Excellent spoken and written communications skills and ability to interact professionally with all levels of employees, clients and vendors; maintain professional appearance and demeanor.
* Ability to analyze financial reports and make necessary adjustments based on the information
* Able to contribute ideas and work in a team environment.
* Computer proficient (preferably Mac) including Excel and Word.
* Must have the legal right to work in the United States.
