BI Analyst with Business Objects XI

Duties and ResponsibilitiesDesign and Develop Business Intelligence Content. Work with Business Analysts and/or users to elicit business reporting requirements.. Work with Business Intelligence (BI) Architect to model application layer and metadata. Design, develop and implement BI report objects supporting end user business requirements. Design and create the BI semantic and analytic layer (focus on usability and self-service reporting).Promote Business Intelligence Adoption. Develop knowledge of business area processes and information needs.. Guide business areas in identifying new data needs and delivery mechanisms for reporting information.. Guide business area power users in developing self-service solutions for their departments.. Provide expertise to business areas in understanding enterprise data content, definitions and usage.. Work with business areas to adapt their business processes to effectively use enterprise data sources for information and analytical needs.. Advise business areas on a structured approach to developing reports and analysis using enterprise data sources and BI tools.. Provide technical assistance with complex queries, analysis and report needs.. Provide technical expertise to business areas in understanding the EDW data architecture and advice on a structured approach to transitioning reports and applications to the EDW.Promote User-Driven BI. Promote and facilitate enterprise data standards and data usage definitions.. Conduct demonstrations and informational sessions to promote BI capabilities to business areas not making use of enterprise data sources and/or BI tools.Hiring Requirements/QualificationsEducation/ExperienceA bachelor's degree in Business Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analysis or a related field. Equivalent work experience will be considered in lieu of a degree. Minimum of five years experience in two or more of the following skill areas (three preferred): business intelligence, relational database programming, data warehousing, systems analysis, data architecture, data analysis and reporting, technical project management and database administration.. Business Objects XI (WebI, Crystal XI, Xcelsius, Performance Management). Multi-dimensional designHiring PreferencesAdditional Education/Experience Preferences. Familiarity with data warehousing and/or decision support and health care systems preferred.. Experience with Teradata, Teradata tools, SAS, and other business intelligence tools preferred.. Managerial skills and experience in project management and leadership preferred.Abilities/Soft Skills. Proven capability in problem solving, data analysis and creative solutions to technical and business information problems.. Exceptional verbal, written and presentation communication skills.. Ability to translate business reporting requirements into an effective and usable reporting application.. Strong people skills and the ability to be resourceful, as well as to make concise, independent and defensible decisions.. Strong organizational skills which allow progress on concurrent tasks from separate projects..
