BOP Project Manager (Gas Compression)

We currently have an opening for a BOP Project Manager located at our Houston, Texas facility.Plans, schedules, manages, supervises and oversees the execution of broad and complex firm-business turbomachinery Balance of Plant proposals and projects which could exceed $100 million in revenue. The scope of this position includes management all of commercial, contractual and technical aspects of the project, including development of execution strategies and risk management planning for all projects assigned. Complex project execution accountabilities will include planning, design, procurement, assembly, test, shipment, installation and commissioning. This position provides a major contribution to achievement of company objectives through realization of project profitability and quality, as well as customer satisfaction, serving as the primary representative of the Company to the customer from proposal development through commissioning. Responsibilities during proposal development include leadership for creation of technical scope descriptions and pricing recommendations. General project activities include management of project budgets using Baan, project schedules using Microsoft Projects, percent complete calculations using Excel, invoice milestone management, monthly reporting and coordination of internal and external teams. When scope includes site installation activities, the project manager is responsible for the development of subcontractor work scope and overall bid package(s), as well as reviewing technical / commercial viability and award selection. Required to have a minimum of 5 years experience managing commercial and/or technical aspects of BOP or EPC-type, and/or turbomachinery projects related to Oil & Gas business.
Minimum of a Bachelors degree in Engineering (BSME or BSEE preferred).
Must have experience developing subcontractor work scope and overall bid package(s), as well as reviewing technical / commercial viability and award selection.
Must have experience and knowledge of managing site work, including progress and safety reporting, for all active project subcontractors.
Knowledge of design and application principles for Balance of Plant process equipment including API, ASME, and ANSI standards is required.
Must have Project Management experience in gas compression BOP for offshore platforms and/or land-based facilities.
Must have experience with managing project budgets using an ERP software system (Baan experience preferred).
Must have experience with project scheduling software (Microsoft Projects experience desired).
Must be proficient in conducting percent complete calculations using Excel.
Must be proficient with invoice milestone management, monthly reporting and coordination of internal and external teams.
A thorough knowledge of the principles relating to the design and operation of gas turbine compression facilities and related control systems is required.
The ability to apply these principles to the direction of other disciplines and to direct people of lesser experience in the performance of discipline engineering assignments relative to the support of complex balance of plant proposals / projects.
Must have experience leading the creation of technical scope descriptions and pricing recommendations during proposal development.
Prior experience with process equipment engineering and fabrication, as well as site engineering and installation / commissioning activities is required.
A high productivity level and sense of urgency.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, good business judgment, and a customer-focused approach.
Position requires 25-50% travel to domestic and international locations.
Technical and conversational Spanish language is a plus.
Must have excellent customer service skills.
Experience with Solars organization and technical knowledge of Solars equipment is considered a plus.
