Criteria for becoming a bus operator at First Transit:

• Minimum 5 years work history, in which at least 3 years has to be in the U.S.

• Ability to be punctual, courteous and safe

• Evaluation period thru training – 90 day probationary period after training

• Minimum age requirement: 21 years

• Ability to read, write and speak the English language sufficiently in order to communicate effectively with customers, clients and staff members

• Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, split shifts & flexible in work schedules:

- Reliable transportation – shifts may start as early as 3am and as late as 12:30am

- Commitment and interest in working over-time (time and a half)

• Ability to complete and pass pre-placement testing:

- DOT/HPE physical – includes ability to lift, push, pull and squat 5 to 30 pounds

- Pre-employment Drug Test

• Possess or have the ability, to obtain a valid and current COLORADO Regular Drivers License:

- Must obtain CDL Class BP2 Permit Test Scores within first week of employment as a student – pass/fail

• Must pass Criminal Background Check – employment, motor vehicle record check and more:

- No Felonies or theft/moral turpitude type offenses - No DUI’s or DWAI’s (within 10 years)

- Clean National Sex Off ender search

• Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record:

- No more than: 2 accidents/moving violation within 12 months – No more than 7 points in the past 2 years

- Continually valid license for at least one year

- No DUI’s or DWAI’s (within 10 years)
