BUYER / PLANT PROCUREMENT

Buyer / Plant Procurement Cytec Industries Inc., a highly regarded specialty chemical company, is seeking a Buyer at its chemical processing facility located in Willow Island, WV (near Parkersburg). The primary responsibility of this position is to be accountable for all purchases at the plant site including raw materials, packaging, transportation, resale and tolled products. This employee also provides backup to MRO procurement function on site. The successful candidate for this position must have the following qualifications: A minimum of three (3) years of directly related purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the chemical industry. A Bachelor's degree in business, purchasing or a related field. Work well as a member of a team and have strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects. In-depth knowledge of purchasing practices including the management of purchase orders and requests. Ability to manage blanket orders and contracts for raw materials, create and maintain approved supplier lists and stock descriptions. Experience in working with planners and product management on forecasts and safety stock levels. Exposure to ISO and participation in Quality audits of suppliers. Understanding of SCAR programs and ability to respond to CCIR action items. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Lotus notes, Windows and purchasing systems.
