Bill of Materials Specialist

Dresser Waukesha manufactures large, spark-ignited, gaseous fueled, reciprocating engines. We also package Enginator engine-driven generator sets. Our products are widely used in field gas compression, power generation and other mechanical drive applications. Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Guide and assist personnel in creating and maintaining (BOM) Bills of Material including the following activities:



work with groups, configurations, and planning bill of materials.

input BOM data on the Waukesha Business System.

ensure consistency and accuracy of engineering notices.

manage additions and/or revisions in regards to the planning bills assigned to the project group and manufacturing systems.

designate Engineering Requests pertaining to engine orders and BOM changes and monitor the progress towards completion.

guide and assist personnel in maintaining BOM.

participate in all BOM related design reviews.

develop standards for bills of material to define requirements and philosophies.

create BOMs for customer orders.

create Final Assembly Orders (F.A.S) and input into build schedule.

review and update customer orders for accessory code changes and previously shipped engine parts orders.

select production test specifications or request manual test specifications.

provide assistance to other departments regarding BOM, groups, configurations, engine orders, etc.

classify parts and assemblies and assign ECCN and HS codes.



2. Maintain Configurator for Waukesha Product families:

review and provide recommendations on Confiurator updates

write rules for engine configurations in Oracle Configurator Developer



Educational Background Required:

High School Diploma is required.



Educational Background Desired:

2 year technical degree a plus



Work Experience Required:

Ten years of experience with product BOM maintenance with a history of increasing responsibilities in the manufacturing industry.

Experience with product configuration management or Oracle Configurator Developer preferred.
