Business/Systems Analyst 2 Job Description:This position is for the world's largest software company, headquartered in Redmond, Washington.The C3 (Content, Community, Service Communications) group is looking for a business analyst to help analyze the effectiveness of our online content, community and email communications arm of our $4B advertising business through insightful analysis, reporting, planning and forecasting.Description: The business analyst will primarily gather, analyze and report an accurate view of key performance metrics for the C3 organization. We are looking for self-starters who can work in a rapidly changing industry, tolerate ambiguity and demonstrate problem-solving leadership with limited oversight. The ideal candidate has demonstrated leadership in the development of quantitative models and analyzes in collaboration with management to effect business decisions and maximize business value. Responsibilities: Analyze current metrics used across the C3 business and recommend changes as appropriate. Refining business metrics currently measured, creating the processes to gather these multi-source global metrics, conducting them, and analyzing and publishing the results on a regular frequency (some monthly, some near real-time needs), Assist with demonstrating the value of online content, community, and email communications. Define ways to tie C3 metrics to customer revenue and support escalation metrics. Building reports and forecasts based on current performance and communicate recommendations to increase business performance. Preparing organizational metrics critical in tracking performance, trends, staffing requirements and client service operations optimization opportunities. Perform analyses of online content and email communications data and driving actions through partnership across customer services & support, business operations, marketing, service operations planning and deployment, ad planning, and product development teams to achieve scalable and global seamless e2e customer support for advertisers. Partner with analysts across sales and service teams to understand and inform overall business trend analysis and strategic initiatives. Perform ad hoc financial analysis and modeling for rapidly scaling content / email programs. This person will display how content ties into revenue and will be responsible for identifying metrics and determining if the all necessary metrics are being captured in order to determine the effect on revenue. Qualifications: A strong technical and business background. Experience in the online marketing or in the online content management industry. A minimum of 3 years experience in business/financial analysis, preferably within the media, software or online industries. Understanding of metrics related to online content and email communications a must. Strong Analytical skills, especially on the cost and operational elements of delivering effective online content business and attention to reporting accuracy. Detail oriented & thorough, with ability to think big picture and understand the key trends and levers that drive a service business Strong spreadsheet competency with Excel (including pivot tables) required and skilled in other MS desktop apps, including Word, PowerPoint, Project. Proficiency writing SQL queries preferred (helpful when pulling reports). University/college degree or equivalent required. Proficient in programming and data management, SAS, R and/or SPSS. Proven history of self-direction, problem solving, strongly organizational and project management with collaborative style.
