Business Systems Analyst 3 (Relational DB Admin) Job Description:This position is for the world's largest software company, headquartered in Redmond, Washington. This group hosts B2B services to over 20,000 customers worldwide.Description: Perform maintenance for current SQL database system during; help design, plan, schedule and implement orderly maintenance of large databases with minimal downtime and user interruption; analyze performance and troubleshoot service related issues involving database resources. Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years in relational database administration and/or deployment; experience with performance optimization/tuning; demonstrated database project experience using the following: Microsoft SQL Server 2000 and 2005, Experience with typical DBA tasks on servers in a datacenter environment; such as optimization, backup, restore, log shipping, replication, DTS, bcp and creating SQL jobs MCSE/MCDBA preferred. Skills Attributes required: Must have passion for database and customer service mentality must be able to work in dynamic operational environment on multiple tasks. Must have excellent teamwork skills, strong verbal and written communication skills Availability for 24/7 on call support. (will work a regular day shift, but, will need to be on call in emergency cases, such as fire, etc) Strong fault analysis/determination and problem solving skills Ability to be a self-starter and to take initiative in critical situations Demonstrated ability to complete tasks and projects with minimal supervision Must have experience working with Terabytes (large data sets)We are interested in candidates local to the Pacific Northwest only.
