Buyer Purchasing Manager
Buyer/Purchasing Manager
Club Kid’doo is the first of an innovative brand of family-oriented children’s enrichment centers designed to enhance the lives of our club members and community through the promotion of learning and community values.
Club Kid’doo seeks a Buyer/Purchasing Manager who can meet the needs of an emerging company.
Responsibilities Include:
· Identify, negotiate, and define business relationships for vendors and suppliers
· Maintain relationships with vendors and interact with the vendor/supplier communities in compliance with Club Kid’doo standards and codes of ethics
· Identify and shop competition and make product recommendations to the management team
· Obtain samples and provide direction during advertising turns-ins and proofing
· Execute sales, margin and inventory plans for the assigned area
· Support management team in executing defined lines
· Maintain knowledge base of industry and competitor market trends as it relates to the assigned business area
· Partner with the management team to complete accurate forecasts by evaluating sales, markdowns and receipts
· Monitor and respond to issues and opportunities resulting from deviations in plan variances
· Provide correct information and inputs for point of sale signage and maintain integrity of quality of signage for ease of store execution level
· Create and input advertising plan
· Establish collaborative relationships with placement to ensure availability and the timely delivery of merchandise
· Monitor and maintain promotional performance
· Manage and control the markdown process and recognizes variances
· Analyze sales trends, key items, vendor profitability and aged inventory and make recommendations for driving improved performance
· Develop product and negotiation to include cost, subsidy and terms
· Coordinate corporate purchasing activities that are consistent with overall future direction the organization and in line with customer expectations for global cost competitiveness. Responsible for the training and development of Associates
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
· Knowledge of procurement practices including supplier selection, negotiations, vendor relationships, inventory cost savings, execution of purchase orders
· Retail math literacy and application of concepts to daily operations
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills
· Team player with the ability to interact and support staff
· Ability to analyze and solve problems
· Ability to use independent judgment and manage/impart confidential information
· Ability to prioritize and coordinate responsibilities
· Detail and accuracy-oriented
· Strong sense of urgency and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
