Job Description:The client is very motivated to hire the right fit.Ideally they would be interested in someone who has a stable history of employment ( perm job) and is technically very sharp. Immediate interview and feedback.Looking for local candidates only.No Visa sponsorship available. The emphasis for this position is C++ (STL). S/W Instrumentation background. Product enhancements are made using MFC. Communication with application is done using COM. The application deals with analysis and instrument control. There is legacy code - it has been around for 5 to 7 years. They are planning to add features and modification to the product. They plan to migrate it to a C#/.Net platform Must have the eagerness to dive into new opportunities The manager called in with the following information (in addition to the existing job req) He called in and said that he is seeking a candidate with COM experience with instrumentation control. They want to be able to "talk" to the COM object.Soft skills: Sr. level person who is good at problem solving. Should show leadership and drive, be able to work with cross-functional teams. There are only 3 people on Domenic's team, so the candidate should feel comfortable in a small environment.Must be willing to work on legacy code at first, with the goal being to migrate MFC to .Net framework. ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Required qualifications. Minimum 8 years industrial software development. C++, MFC, and COM. Knowledge of software development processes. Experience with software for instrument systems and/or complex data analysis. Technical leadership Desired qualifications. Life Sciences background. C# and .NET 2.0. Experience with .NET/COM migration and interoperability. Experience with migrating an existing MFC Windows application to the .NET framework The qualified candidate will work as part of a team of 2+ developers, testers, and application scientists. The person in this position should be knowledgeable of and will be responsible for all aspects of a software product life cycle. The software developed is primarily used by external customers. Consequently, a high level of customer focus both internal and external is required. The essential development activities will include Windows desktop application development using Visual Studio, C++, MFC, and COM. QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: Minimum B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent degree or equivalent work experience. EXPERIENCE: Minimum 8 years of professional software development in Windows desktop application development using C++ and MFC. Professional development experience with .NET, C#, and DAO is desired.
