This individual will work on significant and unique issues where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangibles and state-of-the-art technical knowledge. This candidate will exercise independent judgment in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Please note that this position may supervise the activities of others. Should be able to perform senior level assistance at all levels of a turbo-machinery control (TMC) project (sales, specification, factory acceptance test, and startup). Areas of process control expertise should include one or more of the following: • Compressor anti-surge, • Generator voltage regulation, • Three valve extraction steam turbines • Control of a variety of different manufacturers of steam and gas turbines. Specifically, typical skills should include: • Design, startup and optimization control systems for steam and gas turbines. • Experience with single, dual and triple valve extraction turbines. • Experience with single shaft, dual shaft, inlet guide vanes, and secondary nozzle valves. • Compressors: Refrigeration, Cracked Gas, Air, Wet Gas, Syn Gas • Generator Control: Megawatt Operation, Isochronous Operation, Droop Operation, Isochronous and Parallel Isochronous Operation, Load Sharing/Shedding • Gas/Steam Turbine Horsepower Sharing Algorithms, Multi-Valve Extraction Turbines, Anti-Surge Control and Capacity Control -Prepares detailed hardware/software specifications on company products and develops detailed engineering estimates for potential projects. Assists in developing/assessing risk facits on various applications. -Supports Engineering in the development phases of new products. -May build a mini-application based on customer requirements to demonstrate feasibility of the application, often requiring rapid prototyping. Interprets customer technical specifications and generates strategies for implementation in production. -Leads the TMC solution design and engineering. Reviews the software design with the lead programmer. -Coordinates and/or participates in on-site engineering, start-up and application commissioning. -Develops and implements various approaches to optimize customer plant economic performance. -Assists in sales in the promotion of unique applied services through customer presentations, publications, surveys and studies. Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in or equivalent. Post-graduate coursework may be expected. Typically requires a minimum of 14+ years of related experience.
