As the largest food distributor to retail stores in the United States, we also provide a robust suite of supply chain services to serve both our own retail banners and thousands of independent retailers.Combined, SUPERVALU’s two lines of business provide a wealth of diverse opportunities to grow and to contribute to a thriving enterpriseJob responsibilities:Provide competitive merchandising solutions for retail formats for Grocery/Frozen Food/Dairy department by researching market conditions to determine potential sales of product or service and retail trends; create sales opportunities through category management and market principles with relation to SKU rationalization, merchandising, and niche market applications; coordinate sales distribution, analyze sales statistics, review market analysis, manage vendor relationships and key retailers; develop annual promotional plan for the category by evaluating items and negotiate deals with vendors; develop, negotiate, and execute regional tactical plans for Category Management programs(pricing, promotion, product, and placement) for the category; communicate with various vendors; prepare budget for program costs as part of campaign plan development; supervise, train, and develop assigned staff.
