Civil Engineer/Facilities Planning

Job Description:JOB DESCRIPTION:1. Performs complex hydraulic modeling work for the research and planning of water, wastewater, and recycled water to include: evaluation of pipe networking, pumping, storage and drainage facilities2. Researches and identifies project planning requirements and parameters; and analyzes and determines hydraulic requirements and facilities using specified guidelines and standards for existing and proposed projects.REQUIRED SKILLS:1. Ability to review, prepare or direct the preparation of complex engineering plans, specifications and legal contracts2. Prepare and evaluate engineering studies of large projects3. Perform accurate engineering calculations and cost estimates.4. Need knowledge of GIS to support hydraulic modeling and planning projects and prepare engineering reports.REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:1. Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or other engineering discipline acceptable to the District.2. A valid license as a Professional Engineer in Civil Engineering issued by the State of California is required.
