Commercial Print Buyer

Job Description:The Hanover Insurance Group is seeking an experienced Commercial Print Buyer for our office in Worcester, MA.Position Overview: Responsible for managing the efficient flow of marketing communications and advertising projects (jobs) from Strategic Managers to vendors ensuring all deadlines are met on time and within budget. This successful candidate will successfully manage their time between: Project Management (40%) Proofing & Vendor Management (40%) and Reporting & Departmental Relationships (20%).Responsibilities: Project Management: Facilitate and work closely with the Strategic Managers to coordinate the delivery and distribution of finished products. Review estimates and job layouts. Recommend alternative and cost effective manufacturing methods where appropriate. Ensure all estimates and proofs are delivered to strategic managers on time and within budget. Deliver printed samples to individuals listed within the creative brief. Coordinate and attend all press checks on large campaign prints Oversee the creative department in the pre-flight of files to selected vendorsProofing and Vendor Management: Work closely with external print/promotional vendors to maximize relationships, costs efficiencies, lead times, and turnaround times as well as stay up-to-date on the latest technologies and innovations Print production activities include specifications of format and stock, obtaining print quotes and creating Sourcesmart requisitions. Prepare all packages for shipment to printers, publications, outside consultants and other suppliers. Final approval of all printer production proofs Reporting/Departmental Relationships: Prepare monthly production reports and process monthly invoices and feeds Identify and recommend best practices and technical changes Daily meetings for review of work load.Required Skills, Key Success Factors and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, or equivalent Vast Knowledge of commercial print techniques and equipment Strong project and vendor management skills Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline environment Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) Excellent time management skills with ability to prioritize work Ability to work independently and as a teamMinimum Education Required: BachelorYears of Experience Required: At Least 1 YearExpected Travel Time: None
