Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Component Engineer Job Description:Component Engineer – Electrical EngineerBoston Scientific Neuromodulation located in Valencia California seeks skills toResearch, develop, design, and test electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks. You will source, select, and qualify electronic components used in the company’s technology. Investigates alternate component technologies or supplies, reducing cost and improving quality and reliability. Acts as technical interface between component/production suppliers and development engineers, determining new and alternate sources. Investigates alternate component technologies or supplies for reduced cost or improved quality and reliability, and implements changes. Develops guidelines/procedures on vendor selection. Evaluates supplier change notification and qualifies changes, as needed. May maintain component data management system including qualification records/results/documentation. Input and maintain component libraries in CAD system.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESProvide new part specifications, select vendors, qualify parts.Locate, select and qualify alternate vendorsProvide solutions for component End-Of-LifeSupport product qualification programsInsure parts meet RoHS WEE standardsWork with contract manufacturers and vendorsGenerate Standard part specifications, generate and maintain component data based in CAD systemGenerate Bill Of Materials for design engineersGenerate Engineering Change Orders for design engineerFull use and application of standard principles, theories, concepts, and techniques.Provides resolutions to an assortment of problems of moderately complex scope. Uses judgment within defined practices and procedures.Works under normal supervision. Follows established directions. Work is reviewed for accuracy and overall adequacy.Contributes to the fulfillment of projects and organizational objectives. Failure to achieve results or erroneous judgments’ or recommendations may require the allocation of additional resources to correct and/or achieve project goals.Primary intra-organizational with occasional inter-organizational and external customer contacts on routine matters.
