Industrial Controls, one of America’s largest distributors of industrial instrumentation, valves, and HVAC controls, is looking for someone to fill a full-time position at our Wanamassa, NJ (SE Monmouth County) headquarters. The candidate we choose will be providing aid to the staff on all company-supported software applications and hardware systems. In addition, he or she will troubleshoot computer problems, determine the source of the problem, and advise management on the appropriate action(s) to take.
Our chosen candidate will be working on a network that includes (but is not limited to) PCs, laptops, NICs, TCP/IP, desktop apps, Citrix clients and Terminal Servers, Windows XP 2000-2003, and MS Office suite 97/2000/2003. Knowledge of SQL5 and Crystal Reports is a plus, but not required
Primary responsibilities:
· Answer staff’s questions in person and by phone on all company-supported applications.
· Troubleshoot computer problems.
· Determine the source of problems (hardware, software, user access, etc.) and advise management on appropriate remedy.
· Serve as liaison between staff and the technology department to resolve any issues.
· Work one-on-one with staff on application projects.
· Provide recommendations on company application purchases.
· Build and configure desktop and laptop computers for new users.
· Setup LCD Projector, laptop, and screen for presentations/meetings.
· Perform other duties as assigned
Additional responsibilities:
· Perform hardware and software installations.
· Provide on-the-job training to new staff members.
· Provide computer orientation to new staff members.
Knowledge and skill requirements: Advanced knowledge of company-supported applications. Ability to learn and support new applications. Interpersonal skills. This is normally acquired through a combination of a Bachelor's Degree and three to five years of equivalent experience.The ability to read, write, and speak English well is essential.Must be able to flex time to work evenings, weekends, and alternate schedules as needed.
