They form the foundation of our SUPERVALU Advantage - the key to our continuing success.Title: Computer Operator IIBASIC PURPOSE AND FUNCTION:With guidance and training from the Operations Supervisor, provide an effective, reliable production environment through an understanding of the business needs, the established policies, procedures and service levels. Communicate issues and problems with the environment to shift lead and management.TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage the print and distribution of reports. (Printers used: Xerox 6115/6100/DC12-Color) Retail support~ provide assistance to our retail customers (Application: CICS/TSO – Orderwell) Logistics support ~ provide support to our warehouse (Application: CICS/TSO) Hardware support and maintenance (Printers-IBM 4400/Xerox Phasers/MFD’s/PC’s/Telxon/Vocollect) Network support (Servers/switches/AP’s) Flexibility (available to cover various shifts in the absence of co-workers, also provides coverage on major holidays) Monitor and maintain IT systems, escalate and report any deviations to Operations supervisor in a timely manner. Monitor environmental hardware, such as UPS, HVAC, SiteScan, and water and fire detection. Attempt to resolve problems per resolution procedures, and escalate to Operations Supervisor as necessary. Operate multiple systems and peripheral equipment in accordance with operations instructions. Follow operations procedures to troubleshoot and resolve problems, to include peripheral hardware, OS, Albertsons applications, and software. Provide timely and accurate preparation of disaster recovery tapes for shipping and receiving. Execute ad-hoc request jobs to assist Operations Analysts and development. In accordance with this position as trainee, increase knowledge and technical expertise on Operating System tools (i.e. Omegamon, SLS0, MVS, Jes2, TSO, Openview, PreAlert, Eco-tools, PC software, etc..). Process work as per run documentation and in sequence called for in the Operations run schedule. Resolve or escalate deviations. Perform routine procedures under the supervision of experienced Operations staff, and Operations Supervisor. Completes other duties or adhoc projects as assigned by the Operations Supervisor or Lead Operator relating to mainframe or mid-range systems processing, monitoring, problem resolution, or reporting. Log and report all problems for trend analysis.SKILLS, REQUIREMENTS, AND WORKING CONDITIONS: High School diploma or equivalent. Preferred 1 year college Knowledge of general computer concepts and principles. Ability to multi-task effectively, remain detail oriented, and maintain composure in fast paced IT environment. Logical thought process and ability to learn new systems, concepts, and procedures. Excellent customer service skills, and ability to work with others.
