Thank you for your interest!Controls the releases, defined as the combination of versions of all software, in-house and purchased, which have passed the testing series together and are certified as working correctly together. Plans the deployment of software releases of products and the in-house applications. Maintain standards for software configuration. Creates and maintain version directories. Serves as technical support and “build engineer” to create installation packages of software across all tiers, and reports suggested and planned improvements. Develops standards for configuration of software. Controls the version migration process as each version moves through the development and testing process. Records and maintains releases of the developed software. Plan and support Conversion test migrations and production deployments Plan and support deployments across multiple environments. Documents processes and products. Work with development, QA, and support teams to resolve all release related issues to resolution. Facilitate all release meetings Produce build & release reports indicating status of all facets of development builds and releases. Continuous enhancement of the CM process to support required business needs. Other duties and responsibilities as required. Coordinate schedules between Development teams, DBA's, and Operations; develop/improve build communication channels; develop/improve/document build processes and procedures. Support multiple code baselines and build and deliver frequent releases. Strategize on best practices for ongoing parallel development, featuring branching, merging, and common library management; manage tools to allow efficient: build and release of software developed. A Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field or equivalent work experience. Minimum 3-5 years of progressively responsible related technical experience in a large scale computer/systems environment and at least 6 months major responsibility for control and management of technical baselines of a complex system. At least 5 years of Build/Release/Configuration experience in a product environment Must have worked closely with the Product Management and Engineering teams to create a vision for the product configuration management (baseline, increments and rollouts to multiple customer bases) for at least 1-2 software products Minimum 3 years experience implementing solutions with the J2EE Framework. Experience with source control management systems (Rational ClearCase, Razor etc.) in a distributed environment (on site offsite) Experience with IBM WebSphere is a plus. Strong Rational tool (ReqPro, ClearCase, ClearQuest) experience. Experience using configuration management concepts (revision, baseline, branching, release, labeling and promotion) Scripting languages (MS batch files, UNIX shell scripts, Ant, etc.) for use in automation.
